Alexandra Byrne is a British American actor living in Brooklyn, NY.

She was born and raised in the rural countryside of Leicestershire, UK, the daughter of a British father and American mother. She attended University in Birmingham, UK.

Alexandra studied acting first at the Young Actors Theatre Islington (YATI) and then pursued advanced training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, where she honed her craft, to become adept in film, television and stage acting. 

During this conservatory programme, Alexandra explored her passion for acting through a variety of methods, including classes such as Movement, Alexander Technique, Dialects, Voice and Speech, Lucid Body and much more.

 

Alexandra has completed contemporary scene study work with Janis Powell, Susan Pilar, Maggie Low and Yvette Heyliger, as well as, classical scene study with Rachel Botchan and Timothy D. Stickney.

Alexandra made her New York Theatre debut at the New York theatre festival, in which she originated the role of Nona in a production of Big Wave (written by Daniely Martins). This play ran again on January 10th, 2025, at the TADA Theatre, NY.

 

Alexandra is currently completing her final year at the Academy as one of the 2024-25 company members. Her previous credits include Pride and Prejudice as Jane Bennet/ Miss De Bourgh (an adaptation by Kate Hamill, directed by Joseph Hayward).

 

She has also portrayed Agnes Evans in She Kills Monsters (written by Qui Nguyen, directed by José Zayas).

 

She went on to be cast as Judith Bliss in Noël Coward’s HayFever (directed by Dave Shalansky).

 

Her graduating stage performance at the Academy was #13 in the play The Wolves (written by Sarah De Lappe, directed by Dina Vovsi).
